-On average, more than 2.8 million people tune in to see Kat Von D’s return to Los Angeles-

Last night’s world premiere of TLC’s new series LA INK garnered a 2.16HH and 2.54 P18-34 rating. Ratings for the premiere were TLC’s highest ever for a series launch among P18-34 and the highest series premiere for HH since the debut of What Not to Wear in 2003. On average, more than 2.8 million people P2+ tuned in Tuesday night at 10PM to see LA INK’s star Kat Von D return to Los Angeles, assemble her new crew; artists’ Hannah Aitchison, Kim Saigh and Corey Miller and shop manager Pixie Acia, and start building her new shop in Hollywood. New episodes of LA INK will run through October 30th, 2007.

Staring Kat Von D, LA INK centers on the tattoo parlor she opened in Los Angeles and features the stories behind the artists and the tattoos they create. Joining Kat Von D in the shop are three of the world’s top artists, two of whom are woman, proving that great art shares no gender bias. An exciting shop with a rock n roll flavor, LA INK is the perfect backdrop for people from all walks of life to come and get tattooed, including actors, musicians and athletes. In the first episode of LA INK we saw Kat Von D tattoo actor/musician Eric Balfour (24, Six Feet Under). In up-coming episodes we see the cast tattoo other notable celebrities/musicians including Steve-O (MTV’s Jackass), Jesse Metcalf (Desperate Houseives), Eve, Scott Ian (Anthrax), Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal), Emerson Drive and others.
