Helio Castroneves Voted `Dancing’ Champ
Shortly after performing a spot-on encore of their best dance of the season, the quickstep, Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough won the glittering mirror ball trophy. While Mel B was arguably the better technical dancer, Helio easily earned the title of most improved, not to mention most beloved by the cheering crowd. Unlike others in the competition, he didn’t come from a dance, stage or entertainment background. Natural talent, buckets of charisma and a willingness to learn carried the two-time Indy 500 champ to his first ever dancing title. For partner Julianne, the night was a repeat, as she claimed the victory last season with another athlete, Olympic speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno.
