Designers get avant-garde on ‘Runway’
Challenged to design an avant-garde dress using their model’s hair as inspiration, Kit and Ricky designed a garment that had increasingly concentric hoops as a skirt. But Michael Kors said it looked like “you ripped the sheets off the bed and ran out the door,” and Nina Garcia said “everything looked amateur.” When her partner Ricky was spared, she was eliminated. “We wanted you to give us something fashion-forward, but instead you took us backwards, and not in a good way,” Heidi Klum said.
