Art inspires the final challenge on ‘Runway’
Two designers were set to be eliminated during this, the final challenge, and Sweet P was the first to go. The judges liked her clothes but said they were too commercial. She based her dress on a Dutch painting, “Peacocks,” but didn’t make it runway-friendly enough for the judges. “I think it’s a nice dress: wearable, flattering, but it’s a show,” Michael Kors said. “I know you know how to make commercial clothes. I need to see the next thing.” She didn’t bring that to the runway, so she will not compete at Fashion Week — although like the rest of the final five, she did present a collection there last week, but hers won’t count toward the competition.
