It was a jungle on ‘Top Chef’ Chicago
This week’s episode opened with Valerie and Stephanie exercising and chatting. They used to work together in a Chicago restaurant. Unfortunately for Valerie, she didn’t come up with something to redeem her olive blinis. Any decent chef knows that blinis have to be served immediately after they are made. Valerie also knew it, but didn’t think that her other teammate, Antonia needed to throw her under the bus in front of the judges. Without hesitation, Antonia told the judges she would hire Stephanie, not Valerie, to work at her restaurant. “I thought that was lousy,” Valerie said, because Antonia didn’t even try her blinis. But judge Gail Simmons did and all she tasted was “dry and crunch.” Valerie accepted defeat in stride. “See ya guys!” she told her fellow contestants. “I made a bad decision and that’s what happens,” she said. So, true Valerie. So true.
