Mr. Gunn,

I'm sure you get hundreds if not thousands of applications every day. And for the most part, I'm no different than the other women who apply. I'm 26 years old. I work as a high school biology teacher at a school in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The real reason I need Tim Gunn is that I'm often mistaken for my students! I need to figure out a way to be fun and youth-full without people thinking that I'm a high school student rather than the teacher. Next May I have my college reunion and I really want to show everyone how successful I have been. I played college tennis but since becoming a teacher I don't have as much time to work out. I do karate 5 days a week, but I've still gained some weight and I'm just not sure how to dress for my new shape. There have always been people in my life who questioned me becoming a teacher since I could make so much more money with my biology degrees (masters from Columbia). But I really love teaching! I just want everyone to see how truly happy I am in my choices, and show them a sophisticaed me!

Thanks,
 Lisa

Dear Tim:

All of the casting calls for your show Guide to Style seem to be asking for women who want a fresh new look!
My husband is a Sales Executve in the Fragrance Industry and has been bringing home the bacon for a long while for his family...but with three college age kids. now...his wardrobe has had to wear thin! His GQ looks need some new suits...and a great haircut...and though he wouldn't say so at work...he loves
watching fashioni runway and your new show with our
teen daughter. We've always said he sould be a mens suit model...can you have a show for the
hard working men?? And give Rex a fresh business look? ...We always say at our house...that it was the cut of Regan's suit...that won the cold war.

Sincerely,
Mcihele H.

Dear Mr. Tim Gunn,

I was hoping that you would consider me for your program on Fashion. I am 51 years old, work at a health resort, Canyon Ranch in Tucson and have always had a flair for fashion. I always receive compliments on my clothes and style…I think I have a talent with putting things together and noticing if something is stylish even before it comes out as a trend. Lately however I feel that I should transform my wardrobe from the trendy clothes to a more sophisticated style. My tendency has been think that having more clothes at a bargain is better than owning fewer good quality pieces. I want to change that, yet I’m not sure what direction to take without becoming boring with my choices. I have most of your 10 Must Have items. I don’t own a trench coat…living in Tucson we don’t have much need of a coat, much less a rain coat.

My son, Austin, is getting married to a wonderful girl who I love dearly. I asked Michelle if she would prefer that I wear a certain color to their wedding, the theme color is salmon. She said she has no preference and didn’t mind what color I wear. The wedding is on Long Island in October…I’m thinking it’s going to be cold! I want to plan ahead and not be caught looking for the dress and the accessories at the last minute; which is what I always seem to do. Can you please help me? I would love to be on your show and receive the guidance that you are so adept at offering.

I love your shows (Designer and Fashion!!!!) and would love to have the opportunity to meet you!

Dear Mr. Gunn, I am a 51 yr. old flight attendant with a major U.S. airline. I live in a uniform & very casual clothes while @ home in Orange County, Cal. You have had an enormous impact on how I look @ my wardrobe! My collection of clothes is rather large for the amount of wearability it contains. I'll bet you could have a field day there. I have recently tossed a big pile of outdated items & donated them to a local shelter. I do this annually, yet I seem to have lost my fashion vision. Can you help me ? Fondly, Lulu
