Tattoo Highway

tat_106A&E NETWORK PRESENTS THE NEW UNSCRIPTED SERIES
“TATTOO HIGHWAY”
FOLLOWING RENOWNED ARTIST
THOMAS PENDELTON AS HE TAKES HIS TATTOO PARLOR ON THE ROAD
PREMIERING WEDNESDAY, MAY 27 AT 10PM ET/PT

A&E Network takes tattoo television on a road trip through the cross-country travels of master tattoo artist Thomas Pendelton on “Tattoo Highway.” The 13-episode, half-hour series will premieres Wednesday, May 27 at 10PM ET/PT on A&E.

Pendelton and his business partner and wife Monica have transformed a 1970s tour bus into a tattoo parlor on wheels, featuring a swanky interior and top-of-the-line tattooing equipment. It’s a tattoo shop that can tattoo anyone, anywhere.

“From the creation of the art, to the environment that I tattooed in, it has always been about my customers’ experience,” says Pendelton. “In a street shop it was easy to forget just how personal that experience should be. Rolling up and parking the shop right in the middle of someone’s life, well, there is nothing more personal than that.”

15-year tattoo veteran and star of former A&E hit “Inked,” Pendelton and his new business “Ministry of Ink” hit the road in this new series to transform personal stories into living art. To create a touching memorial tattoo that brings him to tears, Pendelton mixes the cremated ashes of a deceased wife into the ink for a portrait on her husband’s chest. For another job, he uses UV ink for a tattoo only visible with a black light, for one man’s constant reminder of his mother. From a pair of matching eggplants, to a giant gorilla riding a scooter and an emblem of Apache stars on the forehead of an elderly woman, Pendelton and his team encounter unusual and inspiring stories from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and beyond.

Ride along as emotional limits and friendships are challenged and the persistent mechanical problems of a vintage bus are tested on the road, as “Tattoo Highway” proves to be one bumpy ride.

“Tattoo Highway” is produced for A&E Networks by Juma Entertainment, LLC. Bob Horowitz and Lewis Fenton are executive producers for Juma Entertainment, LLC.  A&E executive producers are Robert Sharenow and Neil A. Cohen.

Currently, I have the outline of a dove holding a skull in its talons but would like to expand the tattoo.

I’m a single mother living in the city of Cambridge ON, I recently got my stomache and back tatooed after five years of creating the idea of what was significant to me and wouldn’t change. The first part was great, I am content with the front, but when it came to the back as discussed, he changed my design last minuet and did nothing I had asked for.

I would like to know if this could be ‘covered’ or recontructed into a masterpeice of your art?

  23. Terry Says:

My 2 sisters and I have an amazing tattoo story. My older sister was in a serious car accident in February, she was ressuciatated 3 times, she broke every limb in her body and they amputated her left leg at the knee. The rescue heros that cut her out of her car said they have never seen anyone that badly injured and live. My other sister and parents and I managed to get from 4 different states to Montana within 24 -48 hrs of her accident, the day after the Doctor said the only good new is she’s alive. After much prayer and the Grace of God, my sister is now on her way to great rehab, they thought she would still be in ICU at this point. There is another level to this story that only she can tell. My younger sister and I decided while our other sister was in a coma we were all 3 going to get a matching tattoo on our foot to celebrate the re-birth of our sister. The design of the tattoo is the part of the story that only our older sister can tell. If you are anywhere near Kansas or Texas I think we would be an amazing story for your show.

    Thank you,
    Terry, Penny and Nae

  24. Deb Fowler Says:

Hi, Guys. I am in Topeka, Ks. and writing with a very special request. I don’t have any tatoos at this time. Having said that, my story is not really mine at all, but it is my best friends. Her name is Lesli and she is dying of Stomach Cancer. Lesli has been more family than friend for 22 years. Lesli traveled a few years ago with my brother and daughter to Jacskson Hole, Wy to visit my sister Dee Dee and my mom, who lived in a nursing home. While there Lesli got a beautiful tatoo of a hummingbird on her right ankle. My sister and I were discussing Lesli’s condition recently and decided we would like to have Lesli’s tatoo duplicated on our ankles, only adding the Pink Ribbon, to signify her battle with the dreadful disease. The artist that did the original tatoo for Lesli has siince moved on and can’t be found. When I saw your show, I thought if I am going to get a tatto, I’m 57yr and had said I would “never” get a tat, then I would be honored to have someone of your caliber and character help me in my and my sister’s quest to memorialize Lesli. I wish you safety, health and peace in your journey. God bless you all. Thank you for hearing my request. Deb Fowle

    Thanks
    Donna

  27. Deb Pence Says:

    Hello,

This looks like it will be an amazing and inspiring program I can’t wait until it comes to out. If you are thinking of traveling to the Illinois area I think you will find that my daughter has an amazing story to tell. She is 21, but at 12 she was diagnosed with an incurable genetic lung disease called cystic fibrosis (deemed as “sixty five roses”) . This disease has a life expectancy of 37 years of age and when she got alittle older she had gotten a couple of tattoo’s to help tell about her life blooming and beating this disease and the disease dying off. A year later she got another one again reflecting her positive attitude on how she deals daily with Cystic Fibrosis. I think you will find her to be an amazingly upbeat young woman who is now looking for yet another tatoo showing her fight in this disease.
    Thanks,
    Deb Pence

  28. Sandy Says:

I saw the commercial spot about your show. My husband who is a twin and is one of five brothers and also has a younger set of twin brothers of which one tragically passed away recently of leukemia. The four brothers of the family would like to get a tattoo in his honor. They have a strong Irish heritage and wanted to incorporate a claddagh, cross and clover as part of the tattoo. I thought what a great tribute it would be to do it on your show. I know this is something they want to do soon, please reply if this is possible for your show.
    Thank you, Sandy

  34. e. ruth Says:

You have many extraordinary, candid and sincere requests already posted, but if your travels bring you to the Southeast, please, consider coming to Green Cove Springs, Fl. I have tattoos that need to have cover-up work and repair, but I worry that if I try to get them fixed, they’ll end up horrible with no hope of recovery. I already dress to conceal them no matter how high the temperature climbs. (When I wanted the artwork done, I had never planned on hiding them like I do now.)
Like others posting requests and invitations here, I am divorced raising my four sons on my own (honorably discharged from Marine Corps to be a better parent), I work in the medical field (nothing will teach you more about Life and what is truly important than witnessing the strength of those facing death), my parents have passed away but they’ve left with me some inspiring memories and an appreciation that all of the good and bad in in my life needed to happen to make me a stronger person and better example for my boys.
In your plans, please consider heading South and congratulations on your new series with A&E!

I have seen the previews of your new show. Im excited to see your art form come to life and tell their own stories for those who have been lucky enough to have been chosen to be a part of this great cross country adventure for you. I only regret not knowing that you were making a stop in Salt Lake City, my home town.I had a hero ,a teacher , a best friend and one of the most wonderful men in my life pass away 8 years ago, he was my father. He told me hummingbirds were his angels on earth, he had three that came back to his home year after year , we hung the feeder by the window where he watched his angels everyday til his passing, and since that morning we have never seen them again. I believe my father madeit to his final destination safely on the wings of his angels, and now for the past eight years I have searched for the perfect hummingbird tattoo to honor my father. I will be turning 50 in a few days and like he said you dont need a tattoo til your all growed up, well daddy I think I m pretty well there..lol. Wish you the very best with your new show, and I know I will be wattching soon, good luck.

  44. Amy Says:

  45. Sandman Says:

Just wanted to say that I am a Master Tattooist; I have been professionally tattooing since 1987 (Fineline Tattooing), and in 1996, we added a professional mobile tattoo studio (Tattoo Tours of Colorado).

Mobile tattoo studios weren’t heard of at the time, so we were pioneering new ground back then and we were very successful, and only now mobile tattoo studios started to surface.
I’d like to share a little of our story if I may….

After taking in and helping 64 children through out my husband and my life together, our last two children left home, as well as the last child we took in; thinking we could now concentrate on our life, being a Mom and Pop studio, (incase you are wondering, I am 47 and my husband is 65, although he looks to be in his late forties early fifties) we had made plans to take in other artist to care for our clients at our home base studio, and we were going to take the mobile tattoo studio to new heights, and travel the United State, recording our journey.

When we met our newest member of our family, Angel. She was 18 days old and in the NICU when our granddaughter introduced us to her; we found out later, that the same day we met her, was the day she was abandoned; her biological mother and unknown father gone.

You’d never know it to see her today, but they told us she’d never make it to her first birthday, that she would never walk, talk, sit, crawl, walk; her eyes wouldn’t track right and not be able to ever really live a normal life, all this due to drugs, as well as alcohol and pot in her system. At birth she lost all but 3” of her small intestines, the small intestines allows you to grow, gain weight and fight infection, without them, her food, formula, goes from point A to point B.

So after discussing Angel with our children, we decided to close our tattoo studio down; that was 3 years ago, so we could concentrate on Angel.

We had to under go several medical classes to learn how to mix all her meds, take care of her broviac line and G-Tube, learn CPR, First Aide, take Blood Bourne, as well as Ken Foster care classes and I had to go to school to be a CNA just to adopt and care for her. It was a long road, but our adoption of our baby girl went through 1 year last Christmas Eve. She is now 3 years old, and she has undergone 24 operational procedures and spent 29 months in the hospital. Angel according to her team of doctors is a medical miracle, any one who meets her today can’t believe what she has under gone and how beautiful and smart she is.

After the doctors and us diligently worked with her, she is stabilizing. The doctors now feel a majority of safety with her condition, so with their blessings, we decided we needed to get back to do what we love doing; art, tattooing and meeting new members of our family, our cliental. Being a Custom Artist, allows for a unique experience with each of our clients; 98% of the time, the art portrays a story, a time frame in their mind and heart.

With the economy as it is, we decided to go mobile once again. We always loved meeting our clients on one to one bases, not to mention it was less stress on our clients meeting them where they are most comfortable. We have traveled most of the western states, and the furthest east was Wisconsin, and we are always looking for new areas to travel.

We are in the middle of customizing another mobile studio, I am the only artist and my husband is my manager and he’s a storyteller, which the clients love listening too (his life is one a movie could be based on, but that’s another story in it self); we should be ready to go on the road by mid June ’09.

If this reality show shows half of the beauty in human nature as we encounter in our travels, it should be a good show to watch. It will be very interesting to see how this show prevails, I know in our own experience, we have met allot of interesting, beautiful people and heart wrenching stories.

I look forward to our travels again, my husband was born a 100 years to late, and has decided to name our mobile tattoo studio this time around “The Tattoo Express” with a stage coach, horses and all.

Maybe our paths will cross on the open road, happy trails to you and good luck in your show….

I saw the preview for your show tonight and I think it is an awesome idea. Your safety and success will be in my prayers. If you happen to be driving through Pueblo, Colorado please stop by. It has been a year since my perfectly healthy 29 year old husband nearly lost his life suffering a stroke before having brain surgery then open heart surgery. By the Grace of God, he is in great health now, not to mention, one smokin hot Dad. He has worked extremely hard to regain all his capabilities and physical health but is somewhat bothered by the long scar on his chest. Now that he is well, he would like an awesome tattoo to cover over the scar, to camoflage the year that he lost- our daughter was only 5 weeks old when he got sick. They dont come anymore down home, American loving family than right here. He is a safety manager for an industrial construction company and I am a heart surgery nurse. We will give you gas (for your bus) and a good time!

    Hello,

I need help! The last 2 yrs has been real hard for me. I spent 18 months in Iraq and so when I kept coming home for R&R I would start a full sleeve. Well, when I got back the place went under AFTER I paid in full. So, I have a half sleeve uncolor and looks like crap. BUT that is not all. With in the last year I lost my MOM, Step dad (20 days after mom) Step Mother of 16 yrs. and MY Brother. I have dont have the money to fix my art because I paid for the funerals. Plus I can not sue the tattoo shop because they do not have anything to give. Every place either does not want to touch it or charge me 200.00 per hour. I just want to finsh it. IT is half done and I will let you or anyone complete it the way they want to complete it. I live in Baltimore MD. I just need HELP…. I will go anywhere or pay for it somehow. I just want to complete it. I really need this…..This is all true and I can back it up and prove it. feel free to contact me at 410 963 4122 or fear_fighter28@yahoo.com I will send pictures if needed. Please there has to be someone with a kind heart and that can help……I am looking forward to this.

  71. Michael Morris Says:

I just need a new begging, a new chance to live again!!!! I just need help and there is no people that are willing to help from the kindness of their heart, the realness of the story unless it makes their wallets fat. I am just asking for some color and to finish it. I really dont have a lot of money cause in the last year i spent all on funerals. I never ask for help but I am now swallowing my pride. Plus, I sit and often think I dont have any luck unless it’s bad. You always here the the “other guy” wins and I pray and pray that just once I can be that “other guy” and have a fresh start and new begging. feel free to contact me.
fear_fighter28@yahoo.com I live in Baltimore, MD and I am willing to traavel and let who ever possibly does it can design it the way they want…….I just need a chance.
    thanks,
    Mike

  72. Bridgitte hall Says:

    Hello to all,
I had the opportunity to see the Koi fish you put on the young ladies back. It was absolutely gorgeous. My daughter got a tatoo on her breast , a name she now wants it covered. I was wondering if you are going to be in Long Beach. I told her I would assist her with the cost to have it covered. The name is three letters she was thinking about a flower or a butterfly to cover it. if possible please let me know if it is possible for us to have the priviledge of of having your expertise in this matter.
    Thanks,
    Bridgiite

P.S. best of luck with your show!

  73. Deanna Woods Says:

How do you get nominated for the show?

I would love to get a tat of my youngest son that passed of a brain tumor . Jake was 9. I want a tat of jake standing with wings. I have the picture of Jake. We took it weeks before he passed.

    Jake’s Story
    PCH Kids Stories
You couldn’t blame Jake Martinez for feeling robbed.

He’s 9 years old, chock-full of life, dreams, and mischief … and everywhere he looks is the cold reminder that cancer is closing in.

But Jake is too light on his fate to sit around, counting his losses.

He’s decided to “rob” others, instead.

For the last two years, Jake has been the champion Change Bandit for the KMLE Children’s Radiothon, hitting up friends, classmates, and neighbors for support for the hospital. He’s raised nearly $5,000, by bringing to his hold-ups a no-holds-barred style all his own.

“He tells them: ‘Hi, my name is Jake, and I’m raising money for Phoenix Children’s, my home away from home,’” his mother, Deanna, says. “One time, he said to the person, ‘Aw, heck, I’m not gonna kid you. I’m making my own room.’”

That kind of honesty brings in the bucks, but Jake isn’t just a stick-up guy. He’s a stand-up guy, too. One day, waiting for an injection, he watched a younger boy screaming at the prospect of the needle. Jake told him there was nothing to be afraid of. “Here,” he said. “Let me show you.”

Up went the sleeve, in went the needle, “and you could see in his face that it hurt,” Deanna remembers. “But he just smiled at the boy and said, ‘Wow! See? It doesn’t hurt.’ And the other little boy just stepped right up.”

“It hurts when kids feel bad,” Jake says with a shrug, “and I want to help them.”

“He’s a very upbeat kid, who understands things a lot better than most kids his age,” says Dr. David Moss, Director of Neurosurgery at Phoenix Children’s. “He’s thought this through.”

    Always the Jokester
“They say God chooses certain children to go through this kind of thing,” Deanna says. “He’s just a kid who makes something good out of even the worst times. No matter how he feels, he’s always the jokester.”

At school, kids often ask Jake about his bald head and slowing movements.

“I just tell them that I’m dying of a brain tumor, so I might act weird,” he says.

“He’s handled this better than I think any kid I’ve ever seen in this situation,” says Moss.

The tumor was first diagnosed two-and-a-half years ago, after one of Jake’s teachers mentioned to Deanna that the boy wasn’t using one of his hands. An MRI showed a spider-like tumor on Jake’s brain stem, entwining itself in the spinal cord. Surgeons would have to remove at least 85 percent of the tumor, if Jake were to survive. They could only get 35.

“It’s like a plate of ‘red’ spaghetti and ‘white’ spaghetti,” Deanna says, “and you have to try to get the white out without getting any tomato sauce on it.”

“There are lots of nerves and blood vessels in that area that just preclude your being able to take it out,” says Dr. Michael Etzl, Jr., a Phoenix Children’s oncologist who’s treated Jake.

Neither radiation treatments nor chemotherapy have helped, either.

“This is a difficult type of tumor that is not particularly sensitive to chemotherapy,” Dr. Etzl says. Worse, “there’s a limit to the radiation – a lifetime limit to how much the body can absorb – and he’s had about all he can.”

“Jake understands that he’s terminal,” his mother says, “even though there are days when he says stuff like, ‘I don’t know if I’m gonna get married when I get older.’”

He can’t ride a bike or a skateboard any more. He doesn’t have the strength for slides or swings or monkey bars. But he has energy enough to keep an eye on the people around him.

Last year, he struck up a friendship with a young leukemia patient. He knew the girl’s family was having a hard time, financially. As the holidays approached, Jake took his mother aside. “I don’t want anything for Christmas,” he told her. Instead, he asked if all the money for his presents could go toward the little girl and her family. “That,” he said, “will be my Christmas.”

    ‘Everybody Needs a Friend’
Another Christmastime, Jake was riding in the hospital elevator with his favorite stuffed animal, Cody. An elderly lady looked over and asked about Cody, then told Jake, “Everybody needs a friend.” Later in the week, Phoenix Children’s staff gave Jake a little stuffed mouse. He had it with him, in the cafeteria, when he looked over and saw the elderly woman, sitting alone.

“Everybody needs a friend,” he told her, handing her the mouse.

“The people you meet, the compassion that you see, and the strength of these children is amazing,” Deanna says. “It’s something I’d rather not have gone through, but it’s been a learning experience.”

And still is, for Jake, bandit extraordinaire, who’s determined not to let a tumor rob him of the joy of life now, or later.

“Aren’t you scared?” his older sister asked him one day.

“Naw,” he said. “When I’m gone, and the wind blows … and the leaves fall … that’ll be me.”

Jake passed away March 20, 2003

Jake always wanted to help everyone he was around.
Jake saved his sisters life in 2005 when she was in a near fatal crash.
He came to her and told her that he could not keep her from getting hurt but he would keep her from dying . Danielle broke her back and neck ripped part of her face She was pregnant had Hailey 2 month early. Jake as our Angel saved them both. Than his your brother went down on his bike Jake once again saved him . Please let me know Deanna Jakes mom

Hi guys, I just finished waching your show and I must say it really made me think alot. I have been wanting to get a tatoo on my back for a very long time and have been struggling with who or where to go. The tatoo I would like to get is one to remember my Grandmother and my Aunt. A week before Christmas, my Grandmother and Aunt were both murdered in their home. They were 82 and 84 years of age. Four men broke into their home and beat them to death, for only 400 dollars. I have never gotten over this and can not think of anyother way to remember them more than with a tatoo. I would love some help with tihs special tatoo. I am currenlty a resident in NJ and would love to have a special artist remember these extremely special women. Thank you again for everything.

  90. Jennifer Kromer Says:

    Hi,

I have a tattoo that represents two of my children but now have been blessed with a third and would like to incorporate her into the tattoo. I have not been able to figure out how but after watching your show just once I know that you would be able to come up with something perfect, her name is Rayne. So if you should come to the chicago land area I would love to have this done.

    Thanks

  91. Tim Orr Says:

One of my wishes in life is to have a tat. Three years ago I was diagnosed with hep.-C, witch lead to serosis(sp?) of the liver. For one & a half yrs. I was deathly ill until they sent me home with hospice. The very next day the hospital called & wanted to know if I still wanted a liver; I was in Chicago with in two hrs. After a 14 hr. surgery & three months of rehab, a year of re-training,I’m still here. They gave me 5 more yrs. to live, one year has passed. Please E-Mail me. Thanks, no really Thanks.

  92. Crimson ChaosPaw Says:

watching your show right now and was wondering if you would ever come to southern illinois. i have a tattoo idea that sounds a bit out there and is looked down on in the community and my family. reply if you are interested.

  93. Amanda Reyna Says:

I just finished watching the show and one of the stops on it was a man, who lost his wife and the remains of her ashes were mixed into the ink, this hit me hard in the heart as I just recently lost my mom on Mother’s
Day, she was only 48, as a 29 yr old I never expected that she would not be here with me and my sisters as we reached our golden years. I’m now trying to be strong for my younger sisters, but really inside i’m hurting. As a tribute to her memory we decide to get a yellow rose with her name. Because she loved yellow roses, so if you are down the way of Austin look me up.

  94. Robert Thompson Says:

Hey Thomas, just watch your new show, think it’s great.
This is very hard for me to write about, as I’m still dealing with it, on the day before Thanksgiving 04 I lost my mother to cancer, In may of 07 I lost my sister to suicide because of drugs, I know you will likely never get to my neck of the world, but I like your work especilly
with the gentalmen in nevada who lost his wife.
If you could find the time I would like you to draw me a tattoo to represent my sister and mother that I can get on my shoulder to keep them with me always.
I not even sure if you will even read this, but its worth the try, because I know that I will have to add to tat soon as my father has cancer as well and not sure how long he’s got, his been on borrowed time for three
    years now.
If you do read this thanks for your time.
    robert t

I would like to have a tattoo of my grandpa who passed away years ago, he raised me and my brother and helped my mother with us. I do not remember ever being without him in my life, when he died i fell apart, not only was he my Grandpa but he was the only father figure i ever had, i would like for you to make a special tattoo as a tribute to my grandpa, and when he went away i felt like i lost part of myself, he was a wonderful caring, giving man who never judged anyone no matter what or who they were. he loved everyone and i feel so lost with out him in my life. a tattoo would be with me for life as is his spirit. I would hope you would make it here to Bloomington Illinois. There is more to this story but i do not want to take up the whole space. Thanks Thomas from the Tattoo Highway.

  101. Jen Says:

    Thomas,
My name is Jen and my husband and I live in a town outside of Phoenix, AZ. I’ve seen a lot of people’s stories and I wanted to add my husband’s and mine. I am a mother of 3 boys who are very close to my heart, but I had lost custody of them due to a VERY abusive ex-husband. I was abused in every sense of the word everything from verbal, emotional, and I was raped at least every other day. I had thought that if I was getting hit and abused that my ex wasn’t abusing my boys too. Well, I was wrong. My oldest son suffers not only from ADHD, but anxiety, and has some tendencies of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) as well as he possibly could be Schitsophrenic all due to the abuse of my ex husband. My middle son, which was also abused (my ex left a full handprint bruise on his face for crying in time-out). I was too scared and didn’t know what to do, so I couldn’t leave until my ex was sentenced to over a year in prison for hitting my son.
I was diagnosed with “Battered Wife’s Syndrome”, and I was extremely self conscious as well as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Anything could set me off and I would just go into almost a comatose fear induced space. That was the only thing that I could do when I was with my ex . I would have constant flashbacks… It was horrible. Now, after over 3 years of at least 2 counseling visits a week and my wonderful new husband, I can talk about it freely without getting anymore flashbacks.
On a more positive note, with my new marriage, i inherited a stepson, and my husband and I were blessed with a beautiful little girl. So, now I’m a mom of 4 boys and a little girl.
I want to get my FIRST tattoo and I want to incorporate a heart with a red rose maybe behind it with it’s stem going around the heart, signifying that my 3 boys (who are staying with my parents in another state) may be far from me, but always close to my heart, I also want to incorporate my new daughter and my stepson.
My husband is a military cop with the US Air Force, he was in Kuwait shortly after he graduated high school but now works for the local base. My husband would like to get 2 tattoos, one of his family crest, the other would be a portrait tattoo of his son & our daughter.
Good luck on all of your travels Thomas, and may God Bless you and your wife with health & safety as you travel.
Please email me when and/or if you do come back to the Phoenix, AZ area.
Thank you, and god speed =)

  113. Nancy Kilgore Says:

    Aloha,
I would love to have a cover up of a tatoo on my back that I got together when my ex-husband and I were together. We both got lizards with the kids names down the back of the lizards and each others name in the middle of the lizards. I want the kids name to be incorporated in the cover up and I am from Hawaii and would want something bright, maybe floral, tribal?? I have been searching for my birth mother since I can remember and since I am from the 60′s my adoption record is sealed. I want something to symbolize my hidden/missing birth mom into the Hawaii theme. Look forward to hearing from you all. Love the show it is so unique and I watch it all the time:) Mahalo nui loa!!

  114. amanda Says:

please come to rome ny i have a whole family thats wants you guys to tattoo us please rome ny

  115. kelli Says:

This is such a great idea that was wasted on Thomas. He’s still the same loser he always has been. Monica is way too good for him. Not sure why she’s even on the show/road trip??? Is she trying to keep him from doing something really stupid to leave their family homeless?

Thomas…PLEASE put us out of our misery!!!!

  116. thanks and godbless Says:

Tom i love your true feelings on the ashes in ink program. I felt the compasion you had for him and wanted say what great of a person you are. P.S. the best things in life is love and you definitely have that. Be true to yourself and others will follow.

  117. Susan Says:

I was a fan of his from “inked’. I was so bummed when he left, I thought that HE was the show. I was jealous of Monica and thought she was one lucky bitch to have such a hot tempered, passionate, artistic man so in love with her.
I was surprised to see it was THAT Thomas starring in “Tatoo Highway”. I had been looking forward to this new show, but had no idea it was MY Thomas who would be the dude driving the bus.
I love his heart. I Love his passion. When he was putting that ink into that man’s chest with his wives ashes in it…man, I was all choked up and so was he. My husband was killed riding his Harley (with me on the back of course). i have his ashes and would LOVE to have a tatoo done with ink that had Arizona Jim mixed in with it.
Hey Thomas, if you are ever up north, in the Seattle/SNohomish County area, please come to Everett and look me up. You have my email address, get in touch. I know SO all the righteously great scooter trash up here and could get you a week’s worth of business no problem.
    Gorgeous the Life
    Sploozy aka Harleygal

  118. Susan Says:

p.s. Monica..PLease know i meant absolutely NO disrespect calling you one “lucky bitch”. i call all my girls that…I really think you are beautiful and you have what it takes to keep this man inspired. I just didn’t want you to think I was being mean when I read what i had just written.
I love your hair, mine is purple and pink. OK, just didnt want to leave a bad taste in your mouth making lustful comments about yoru ol man..hell girl, you have GOT to be used to it by now. You are the one who holds the key to his heart and soul, he showed the world that on “Inked”…I stil say you are one lucky bitch,. ;)
come up to God’s country and we will show yall a great time. My late husband Arizona Jim would have loved to get some ink from Thomas….so would I!

    Susan Martin

I work at a VFW Post in Appleton Minnesota That does a Memorial Motorcycle Ride for The friends and Families and fellow Soldiers to reflect on these 3 Fallen Soldiers who lost their lives in Bagdad, Iraq
onon the 21st of February 2005. I feel this would be an awesome opportunity To maybe help in the healing . We recently just sent more of the Soldiers from this same unit back again to serve . This event is held on May 27th 2009. Thank you I love the show and was very touched by it . Donna

  122. Donna Senske Says:

so sorry wrong date given it is June 27th 2009.

  123. lildubi Says:

My husband is a wonderful man with several tattoos. Since the birth of his son, he has wanted to get inked with our son’s name. And now that we have a daughter he really wants new ink to memorialize them forever. I really want a tattoo myself and have always promised my husband we would get inked together. (I have zero tattoos but always wanted one.) My husband works his butt off to provide for us and there is nothing I would like more than to show him how much I appreciate his hard work. He works at jobs he hates so I can stay home for the kids. Noone could love their kids more and having them a permanent part of him would be the best pepresent I could give him. So please let me know if you will be in TN because he deserves the best

  124. Tammy Fowler Says:

Hi my name is Tammy and I am dating a wonderful guy by the name of Ronnie. You see in the past 14 years you would not belive what him and his family have been thru. It all started 14 years ago, You see it was first Ronnie’s uncle that pasted away, then 6 weeks later his other uncle passed away, 2 weeks later his baby brother , Tink who was 22 at the time was in an accient and was killed. Two years later Ronnie’s grandfather who he was very close to passed away suddenly, then 12 years passed by and his other younger brother, Joey was killed in a car wreck. This has got to be the strongest family I know . I know Ronnie wants a memorial tattoo in honor of his brothers. I think it would just be wonderfuli if you were the guy to give it to him. I watch your show and it really touched me when you gave the gentleman the tatto of his wife and used her ashes. I sat and cried right along with you. Any way if you pass by Henryetta, Ok let us know. Rock on

  125. Tracie Says:

I think you should travel to Maine! No one ever comes here but it is fantastic! I hate the commercials for Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig…”I lost 40 lbs” it should continue with and it only cost me a few hundred dollars. I did it on my own….and it cost me nothing. When I started I had a goal of 40 lbs. with the reward being a tatoo. I have maintained for 6 mos. and am ready! Come to Maine…have a little seafood and ink me!

  126. Angela Says:

I too watched you with Hart & Huntington and thought you were great on that show. I would love to see you come to Seattle. I lost my mother to cancer when I was 15 and it has pretty much been a downward spiral since. I have pretty much raised myself since she passed. I at 32 have changed colostamy bags, I held a job at 14 to help cover expenses, taught myself to cook and clean, etc. I even quit high school because the thought of her being gone was just too much. People always ask where was my father. He wasn’t around much I grew up in East Texas and my dad lived in Seattle. Well being a minor at the time I was shipped to live with him. I have now managed to get my GED and go to college. I work in a very successful telecommunications company and have managed to find some way to support myself along the way. I would love to have something memorable placed on my body to represent both the passing of my mother plus the challenges that I myself have overcome.

  127. John Appel Says:

You Guys Are a bunch of fucking cry babies. My girl loves your show, I cant fucking stand how you complain about everything and how fucking Negative you are. Everybody has there own problems no need to listen to you cry.

  128. bonnie renn Says:

  130. kim Says:

WOW, A&E has done it again, first of all Brilliant . Now to Thomas, welcome back dude, yahoo, so glad to see you back. I saw your show tonight & of course your in California. I’ll ask please try to come to Lynn, Massachusetts.
I ask, for a few reasons, 1) I have a few bad tats that need a REAL ARTIST not a MULYSA MAYHEM. ( I’m usually a person to through a name but when I asked her to fix what she did to me, she responded very unprofessionally. )
    2) Your work speaks for itself & you also speak for your work, I feel if I were to bring something I wanted to you, that you would also add your Artistic Eye to it and that is what I’ve been waiting for. I love large beautiful, colorful, symbols, pictures, something I find that is ME and I would like to express my eyes beauty through the ART of Tattooing.

Ok, alittle about myself, I’m 30+ (hehe), I have 9 tats spread around but would like a Beautiful Story on myself about myself and the things I love.

I sure hope this reaches you & your crew, well done.

God Bless & God Speed To You ALL
I’ll pray you come cross coutry to the Atlantic Ocean & right now the weather is georgous. Hope to see you soon.

  131. Pam Says:

I LOVE your show! I just got done watching it and wanted to say that I’m a blonde soccer mom with no tattoos, however, I think I would make a great assistant–just like your artist that didn’t agree with legalized prostitution but did the prostitute’s tattoo anyway! I’ve always wanted to get a tattoo, but am afraid of what it will look like when I’m 65 (or where it will end up) so I chickened out! Come to Fort Worth, Texas and maybe I’ll “un-chicken” out! lol

  132. Nelma Says:

I THINK IT’S REALLY COOL YOU CAN DO MARRIAGES IN CALIFORNIA AND TATTOOS THATS A SYMBOL OF LOVE 4 SURE SO AFTER I HAVE MY BABY ME AND MY BOYFRIEND ARE GETTING A HOLD OF YOU GUYS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.,,,,, LOVE YOUR SHOW LOVE TATTOOS LOVE MY FAMILY TO BE

  134. Heidi Jacobson Says:

    Hey gang,
Boy, my husband and I could sure use your help. My husband had a poorly done tattoo that was then covered with a “tribal” style disaster. It would be difficult to repair, except by the best of the best. If, and when, it’s corrected, I would like a smaller, duplicate copy on the back of my neck. I love the tribal style, somehow it moves me deeply inside, and I would love to have that connection with my husband (of 21 years).
I also have chosen a tribal style piece for my face, would like your opinion on that. Apparently, from what I’ve been hearing, not many women get tattoos on their face. What do you think?
    Thanks, Heidi Jacobson

Im doing a tribute to my cousin and two friends who have passed away way to young and they ment the world to me . But I also want it to repersent me. 139. Ashley Miller Says:

    Hey y’all!
I noticed a bunch of people asking for you to make a tour up to the Pacific NorthWest. I can’t even tell you how much I second (or third) the notion. We get so little this far north (Anchorage, AK) that it would mean to world to people to have something as wonderfully unique as a shop on wheels roll into town. I know of several people who are wandering around, trying to find artists for pieces they’ve been sitting on for years, myself, my room-mate and my boyfriend included. There are a few wonderful artists here in town, but thanks to their low numbers and the local population, you usually end up on one heck of a waiting list for someone worth their salt. Not to mention the awesome factor of having a tattoo done by one of the traveling legends that you’ve established as your crew. Mainly I guess I’m just asking that if you plan on going for another season, don’t forget the lonely, ice bound Americans so far to the north. You’d find one hell of a welcoming party if you head this way. Cheers!!

  140. C S-P Says:

What a great show and an awesome group of HUMANS! The work is wonderful but the crew is what makes the show. We watch your show and appreciate your quest for the human stories.
You all are doing great things by giving closure to some and hope to others not to mention banking some funds.
You also serve as folks with passion for your craft. Not to mention the heart felt parenting we saw in an episode. You have not sold yourselves for the almighty dollar and have chosen to keep your children out of the spot light. Good for you.
Thanks for taking the time to read this as there are people that appreciate your journey.

  141. Monica Dunigan Says:

My cousin and best friend Darcy Diwa lost her baby girl to Trunkis Artereosis in June 2005 , she was only 26 days old…Jessica Destiny Gordon! I held her first and I dressed her little body and swaddled her when she passed…It has been extremely hard, we have long since wanted to honor her with a tattoo on the inside of our arm between the inside elbow and wrist right in the crook so its like we are cradling her…A portrait of her , a special butterfly , both of which that are on her headstone and her dates . We want to be able to hold her in our arms whenever we see her sweet face!!! PLease please!! The first time I seen your your show I knew you had to be the one to do it!!! It has to be you!!! I love to watch yalls shows and really like getting tattoos I have a piece that i would really like to get on my back. I am a single mom working 2nd shift right now and record the show so I can watch it.I wish we had more then one tattoo shop were I live makes it hard to get work done.

  157. Rob Wessner Says:

Hi the other night the episode of you guys doing a cover up of some thai writing you did a coy over it.
my wife and i were watching and saying how awesome your talents are she looked at me and said i wish they could make it to the eastcoast. i know they would be able to draw my tattoo the way i want it.

the reason she said that is we have been to about 5 palors around where we live and all the drawings they make are not what she really wants or they just aren’t a nice enough job. she is loking to have our daughters name written on her neck with a lily flower coming out of the letters . and just so you know we are not dying or totally destitute. i don’t think we would even qualify for you to come to pennsylvania to do her tattoo but i thought i would write in because i feel she deserves the effort of me trying she is a stay at home mom and tries to raise our little girl with manners and respect and does a great job at it. also our little one loves tattoo’s we used them for potty training and as rewards for being good she even went to watch when i had my wedding ring done and she is only 4.
well thanks for your time i hope that you guys read these comments and would at least think about coming east

Talk about the Pacific Northwest…Tommy Morgan, tattoo artist and cast member has his own shop in downtown portland .. Electric Cobra Tattoo Club check it out. Amazing artist with an even more amazing shop!! P.S. The show is very cool…

  159. Christopher Says:

Thomas, I believe that I am meant to have a tattoo, and seeing the magic that you do and the sensitivity that you take to every situation, is inspirational. If your bus ever foound its way through or near Buffalo I would be honored to have your ink to be my first.
A little about my self and what the tattoo would be, until I met my wife I had no real need to make family number one…mainly because I was adopted and I kind of have a difficult relationship with my adopted mother. But since my wife and I have been together we have been building a life and a family of our own also I am becoming interested in my herritage and the ethnicity that my wife and I share, according to court documents.
Im not exactly sure what the tattoo would look like but family has to be at its core. Keep up the good work. And God bless.

    Hi everyone;
Mr. Thomas my name is Mike Good a father of two and a loving husband to my wife Michelle. We have watched you when you were with Cary Hart in vegas. My favorite episode was when you bet the intern that he couldn”t drink a gallon of milk and hold it without throwing up for an hour. It was a great episode. Why didn’t he drink skim Milk? To top it all off then we would give you a ghost tour of gettysburg. Please consider. I know you getb these all of the time but please consider. Thank You for your time in advance.

I have beed taking care of my mom for over thirty years.I should say she has been living with me..she will be 85 on august 1.Two months ago she got her first tattoo. Its a heart surrounded with flowers with my name inside. iTs on her wrist because she wanted to see it every day..It represents the fact that i have saved her from death at least 4 times now, with the last heart incident really being a close call/ she decided that after that ,she would would fulfill a lifelong dream of getting a tattoo/ she wanted to put my name inside the heart , so the nextime if anything happened she would have me with her. . Now the really funny part is my mom is a really sufficated lady, the last thing you would expect to see on her wrist is a tattoo. Now where ever we go, all kinds of people from all walks of life approach her to ask her about her tattoo. And , she will go up to the biggest baddest looking dude around and ask them about their tattoo .they will always appreciate her honesty ,interest and sence of humor. Besides for 85 she is a beautiful looking woman..she loves the show, turned myself, and my husband on to it. My harlequin greatdane mcguire loves your frenchie ! if you are ever in phoenix arizona again, it would be an honor for us to have you at our home and have you tattoo my mom..thanks jan

    6/16/9

    Dear Thomas,

First let me just say how wonderful it is how the Lord has blessed you and your family so tremendously. You are truly blessed to be making a difference in peoples’ lives by tattooing such wonderful meaningful art. The most memorable show that I have seen so far is the one where you added the ashes of the man’s wife into his tattoo. I never would have thought of that and find it so cool that you did. I cried as much as you did…ok maybe not as much. : ) It was so touching and was really cool of you to give him the bottle of ink so that if anyone else in his family wanted to get a tattoo with the ashes they could.

I am writing you today to ask you to finish my husband Joe’s tattoo. I figured I wouldn’t sugar coat it I would just come out and ask you. He started a sleeve about a year ago and it is a tribute to his little brother Cherokee. He passed away from a heroin overdose 8 years ago this month. It was probably the hardest thing that either one of us has ever gone through.

From the wrist up the tattoo starts with a snarling horse which is one of the street names for heroin. Then there is a pair of red dice which represents the rolling of the dice in his life. Around all that there are flames. When Cherokee passed away he had four, one dollar bills in his pocket. Joe got one of them and still has it to this day. He has a rip tattooed on his arm just below the elbow that has a replica of the dollar bill, serial numbers and all coming out of it. On the front of the dollar bill is says Washington DC and under Washington Cherokee wrote “Redskins”. My husband, being a Cowboys fan, found it sacrilegious tattooing the word Redskins on his body but he did it anyway. I think that is my favorite part. Then covering the elbow is a clover because they are Irish. On the inside of his bicep there are some rips that are sill empty. Joe has a picture of himself coming out of a mosh pit at Oz Fest a few years ago (which Cherokee attended too.) He is all sweaty and scary looking coming fresh from the pit. Anyway, from the picture that was taken, he wants to get his eyes inside the rips. Then on the outside of his bicep is a portrait of Cherokee. It looks so much like him it made me cry when I saw it. On the outside of his arm there is a character of a mummy that has his eyes, ears and mouth sewn shut. A hear no evil, speak no evil see no evil thing. Then at the top on his shoulder there is a portrait of Jesus because he is the overseer of it all. There is a skull just below the shoulder that is supposed to be covered up by Jesus’ hair. There is still much space that needs to be filled up. Our son drew a cross that he was talking about maybe filling up one of the spaces but I think he is still undecided for the most part.

He started the tattoo with a guy on 6th Street here in Austin, Texas. He did the outline of everything, filled in a few things and then quit tattooing. He said he had to get a “real job” because he wasn’t making any money. It would have probably helped if he would have worked. Anyway, he quit and it took a couple of months for Joe to get all his pictures and drawings back. When he did he took the pics and drawings to everyone in town and no one wanted to touch something that someone else had already started. We finally found a really cool guy named Mike who took on the portrait. After talking to Joe and hearing the story he was all for finishing it for him. Joe was all for it too until we watched your show. Joe is a God fearing man, we go to church every Sunday and he ministers to several of the men in the church. We have a very small church that needs lots of help and he helps in every way he can. He even mows the grass at the church. When he saw your show and saw what kind of heart you have and he didn’t want anyone else touching his sleeve. I even had a little money saved to get the Jesus finished for him for father’s day but he said no. He wants you to finish it. I’m not sure what other information you need but we would love the opportunity to have you to come to our small town of Elgin, Texas (just outside of Austin) and finish an amazing piece that means more to my husband than anything (other than his wife and children.)

  173. Marcia Colella Says:

Thomas, Just watched 7/1/09 when you returned to your High School and I saw the pain and anger and remembered how it was for my son after his father died when he was 14. Not a good student to begin with, was called names by teachers and hated school. After his dad died, he quit school and floundered, still angry. I am so glad you went back to your school and shared this with us. Maybe a few teachers will see how wrong the have been to taunt and hurt students. I cried when I saw your pain and further cried when you did the wonderful tat for Mr Trooper . Keep up the good work and you have a fan in Mass. Thank You! Marcia

  174. Amber Wolfe Says:

I saw the memorial tattoo you did with the ashes! I have been deliberating on what kind of tattoo to do. I lost my brother 6 years ago and then 2 years later lost my identical twin sister to suicide. We were bullied and put down our whole lives. I want my first set of ink to be a reminder of thier precious lives to me and the fact that i now solely carry thier memory on. Its very personal and would be extremly therapuetic to me. Thank you for giving me a chance to speak up…

    Hey Thomas and Crew,
I really love your shows. I stay up really late at night just so that i know i didnt miss an episode. I know that you guys travel around everywhere and its really hard. i have moved my whole life… packing and unpacking. meeting new people and seeing my family. all great joys. then i got pregnant. I was only 13 but i loved the guy. My daughter is my world and so is her father. they have changed me into a better person and i am thankful for that. But no one realizes that. the just look and stare and judge me before they even meet me. and i hate that.

Now i want a tatto symbolizing my new family and our joys and accomplishments that we have done. and i was wondering if you could help me out. i am in idaho right now but soon i will be in Texas. please message me back and let me know what you think about my story!!

    Sincerly,
    Amanda Stricklan

I am a 3 year breast cancer “thriver”. After bi-lateral mastectomies, I have been “reconstructed”. A lot of women try to replicate a “real” nipple and aerola. NOT my style. As it is not these to me. Immediately after the removal, I found a flower that looks , to me, as such. However, am open to any similar ideas. Near Tampa if your heading this way. Thanks & God Bless. susan

I was hoping to get another done in his memory ,and done by a team of quality artists as yourselves. He was very much into dragons and was looking for something like that.Either way i would like to hear from you.
Thank you for your show and hope to see you in the area even if I dont get picked. Respectfully yours Matt

love your show and everything about it!!! also wanted to know if you all ever came up to eaton ohio? i am a victim of domestic violence for over 7 years. recently got out of the situation with the clothes on my back and nothing else. i am 34 years old and have no tattoos. i have little money but wondered if u ever did a tattoo for free for a worthy person? they say that being tattooed heals the mind body and soul. i need all the help i can get. !! my abuser attempted to break my back along with most of the rest of my body. the tattoo i want is a phoenix armband. to me it would represent the my survival to pull myself up out of the personal hell i lived in and to break the cycle of abuse. they say that a phoenixs’ tears have the ability to heal. maybe it can heal me as well. i need a reminder of the tragedy of my life and it would remind me to never go back and always look forward .

    Hi there,

My story is neither sad nor happy just no explanation.
I had met my baby in Germany 20 years ago and we fell in love..Somehow and for whatever reason our lives were separated but we managed to stay in contact on and off over the years and finally found each other again, still in love only to find out that we again can not be together because he is in prison in MS for capitol murder with no parole, which is brother blamed him for and I live in New Jersey where I raised our twin boys he had never met.
We decided to not let go and put in paperwork to be married if they will approve it. All we can do right now is visit each other there for a couple of hours and that happens not too much as it is very expensive and time consuming for me to get there driving. I would like to get a tattoo that could somehow tell our story.
I hope you have the time to read my story and get back to me and hopefully you will be in New Jersey one day and I could meet with you all.
Thank you so much and I Love watching you ….

I LOVE this show!! When are you coming to New England??? I have tried to get 2 tattoo parlors to design my half sleeve and neither one of them has gotten back to me!! I am looking for the characters and background of Nightmare Before Christmas. I want Jack and Sally to represent my husband and I, the 3 kids, Lock, Shok and Barrel, to represent my 3 children and the santa clause dancing around them to represent my mom who passed away and loved my kids more then anything! So, if you come to RI, look me up, dshlesinger@yahoo.com!!

    Dear Thomas,

My family and friends enjoy watching your show Tattoo Highway. My husband and I have watched you since you were on Inked. We love that you are traveling the country and tattooing people with stories behind their tattoos. Our family and close friends have a story and would love the opportunity to meet you and have you tattoo a number of us with a very special tattoo.

About 5 years ago my husband and I bought property in a neighborhood where the neighbors seemed more like family and less like neighbors. Little did we know how much we had in common.

My son Ryan (13) was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis 1 a couple of years ago after many years of trying to determine what was causing his difficulties. It is a disease that can be hereditary but also spontaneous. In Ryan’s case it was spontaneous. Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder of the nervous system which causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in the body at any time. This progressive disorder affects all races, ethnic groups and sexes equally. Yet there are no cures or many treatments. Unless a tumor is causing a patient real problems it is usually left alone. It can become disfiguring and even fatal.

Ryan has 3 neurofibromas on his spine. Ryan has an MRI yearly and sometimes twice a year. We visit a neurologist and a neurosurgeon yearly, as well as a specialist opthamologist who checks for tumors on the optic nerves. Ryan has learning disabilities that make school difficult for him yet he manages to succeed and pass every year. Ryan is such a trooper and goes to every appointment with a smile on his face.

In our neighborhood, we met a family who ironically had a granddaughter/niece, Collette (8), with Neurofibromatosis 1 as well. Collette’s case is also spontaneous. Collette’s case is much worse than Ryan’s. Collette has a tumor that takes up most of her neck and back area. Collette visits many more doctors and specialists than Ryan and has a knowledge of medicine that no child of her age should have. Collette too is a real trooper.

My daughter got a tattoo in honor of Ryan earlier this year. Since then we have had her redesign the tattoo to fit what my husband and I would do if it were our tattoo. We have since showed that tattoo idea to many of our family and friends. There is a total of at least seven maybe more of us wanting to be tattooed with this tattoo. We would love for you to come to the Charlottesville, VA area and honor us and our families and patients, Ryan and Collette, by tattooing all of us with the tattoo.

This is a very important part of our lives and of our friend’s family’s lives as well. It would mean the world to us to have you come to our town and tattoo all of us in honor of these two wonderful and brave young people who have touched our lives and shown courage beyond their years.

    Thanks.

    Erin Valentine

  220. P.B. Thornley Says:

Too bad this was originally the brain-child of Inflicting Ink Traveling Tattoo Truck owners, and something they’ve already been doing for years. Their specific ideology and free tattoo contest is well known, as well as highly respected for changing the way us ‘normal folk’ view the tattoo industry as a whole.

    Good luck, and safe travels.
