A&E presents “Kirstie Alley’s Big Life,” a new real-life series that will chronicle the extraordinary life of Golden Globe and two-time Emmy winner Kirstie Alley from her journey with her weight loss program to her life as a single mother trying to raise two normal teenagers in the Hollywood spotlight. The series premieres Sunday, March 21 at 10PM ET/PT with back-to-back episodes.

Many people remember Kirstie as a Romulan-Vulcan officer in Star Trek II, a sexy Emmy-winner as Rebecca Howe in “Cheers,” the star of blockbuster films Look Who’s Talking and Drop Dead Gorgeous and of course, for her star turns in “Veronica’s Closet” and “Fat Actress.” For three decades Kirstie has been making headlines and staying in the forefront of the American conscience. Now, she’s granting her fans unprecedented access inside her life…and what a life it is.

“This show has been cathartic for me…shown me who I really am…again,” says Alley, “And it’s really freaking funny.”

One major theme in the series will be chronicling Kirstie’s comedic and unique take on her battle with weight loss, which coincides with the launch of her new weight loss company. Film Features Fresh Soundtrack With Original Remakes of Classic Disco Songs by Some of Today’s Hottest Artists Including Jason Derulo and Cobra Starship

MTV is hitting the dance floor in the next original network movie “Turn The Beat Around” premiering Friday, February 26 at 10p.m. ET/PT. This marks the second premiere from the new slate of original movies produced by MTV. The film will also make its way to DVD March 9, 2010, from MTV Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment.

“This film is another great example of our continued commitment to diversifying our programming and creating new content,” said Chris Linn, Executive Vice President of Production for MTV. “By focusing on genres that resonate with our viewers, collaborating with emerging musical artists and breaking new talent, we are able to produce unique content made specifically for the MTV viewer.”

Set in the competitive L.A. dance scene, the film tells the story of Zoe (Romina D’Ugo), a struggling young dancer who gets the opportunity to fulfill her dreams when she convinces Michael (David Giuntoli), a wealthy nightclub owner, to open a new club with a disco theme. However, as Zoe gets closer to realizing her professional ambitions, her personal and professional lives collide and she finds herself caught between the club’s young owner, her dancer boyfriend (Adam Taylor Brooks) and the sexy, overly ambitious choreographer (Brooklyn Sudano) she might be about to replace. Zoe must fight to overcome all the obstacles before her, in order to become the dancer she’s always wanted to be.

Featuring stunning dance sequences that combine cutting edge hip hop dance moves with stylized classic disco, the film also features a special performance by Pop/R&B sensation Jason Derulo (“Whatcha Say”) in his first on-screen role and a new soundtrack, with original remakes of classic disco songs by some of today’s most popular new acts including Cobra Starship and Sing It Loud.

Upriver he finds a small town with a nuclear plant, where the locals brag about the blue crabs found in their river banks. “Hey! This one has an extra claw. A delicious claw.” Nuclear jokes aside, a couple of locals chat about a mishap with a nuclear reactor while the plant was being built. Hilarious or scary? You be the judge.

Next, Tony heads to Pine Island in the black dirt region of the Hudson Valley. This area was once thought to be untouchable by farmers because of the swampy lands. Tony joins the Matuszewski family in their sausage shop, which has been family-owned since it was started in 1947. The chef is a little kooky, and the parking lot has some interesting characters, but the food looks delicious.

Hide Park is the crew’s next stop. Tony hits the road with Michael Ruhlman for a visit to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA); Tony’s Alma mater. Equipped with a chef’s coat and hat, Tony and Michael are assigned a stir-fried squid with basil dish, to be made for loads of hungry students. “Not to brag, but I could handle this assignment while getting a colonoscopy and still make it in time”. Hmm…not a pretty picture Tony, but I get your point.

My favorite part of this episode is Tony’s visit to the Mohonk Mountain House. It’s a 265-room Victorian castle built in 1869; also one of America’s oldest family-owned resorts. Stephen King has been a guest in this place, which totally makes sense given its creepy nature. “All work and no play makes Tony a dull boy”.

Next on the list is a visit to the home of chef Michael Pardus for some Asian food. Sierra Pardus (Michael’s 10-year old daughter) gives Tony a run for his money when it comes to criticism. Tony says, “I’ve never encountered such an incise critic of my life’s work!”. Check out this sneak peek of Sierra and Tony’s conversation. That girl has some guts!

Since this last week was Groundhog’s Day, what could be more appropriate than a meal with the one and only Bill Murray? At the end of this episode, Tony and Bill break bread at X20; Peter Kelly’s restaurant built on a pier on The Hudson River.
